Banana pudding is often an under-rated dessert. It really deserves more credit than it gets and this recipe is a true winner. Warm banana pudding is superior and this recipe starts warm and then you can store and eat the leftovers cold. A win for everyone!

Ingredients
3/4 c. sugar 2 tbsp. flour (heaping) 1 c. milk 2 egg yolks 4-6 ripe bananas | 1/2 stick butter pinch of salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1 box vanilla wafers |
Directions
- Mix together all dry ingredients.
- Separate egg yolks from whites, reserving whites for meringue.
- Beat egg yolks with milk using a fork.
- Combine both mixtures together in a double boiler.
- Cook until thick, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat. Cool and add vanilla.
- Line a dish with vanilla wafers, alternating with a layer of sliced bananas, then more wafers. Pour pudding over all.
- Beat egg whites for meringue then place over pudding.
- Brown in a 350 degree oven for about 15 minutes.
