Simple and sweet, what else do we need to say? It makes the perfect topping for almost any dessert. Pour it over pound cake, ice cream, brownies, cheesecakes, etc. We especially recommend it on our cheesecake.

Ingredients
1 c. strawberries, mashed 1 1/4 c. sugar Few drops of red food coloring, optional | 2 tbsp. cornstarch, heaping 3/4 c. water |
Directions
- Mash strawberries and set aside.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch.
- Stir in water and mashed strawberries.
- Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Stir in food coloring, if desired.
- Cook and stir 3 minutes until thick.
- Remove from heat and transfer to bowl, cool 10-15 minutes.
